Radio frequency propagation model
The two-rays ground-reflection model is a multipath radio propagation model which predicts the path losses between a transmitting antenna and a receiving antenna when they are in line of sight (LOS). Generally, the two antenna each have different height. The received signal having two components, the LOS component and the reflection component formed predominantly by a single ground reflected wave. (Wikipedia).

A wave traveling between parabolic reflectors, in 3D
This 3D remake of the video https://youtu.be/v0cZjOIfwos shows the working of parabolic reflectors, also known as parabolic antennae, or satellite dishes. Let's say the left reflector has number 1, while the right one has number 2. At the beginning of the simulation, a circular wave is emi

TU Wien Rendering #11 - Recursion and Heckbert's Taxonomy
We now know how to intersect a ray with a scene and how to perform simple shading operations. However, this only means one bounce. In real life, rays of light bounce many more times than one. We handle this problem with recursion by reflecting the ray of light off of the surface and start
