In cellular automata, a replicator is a pattern that produces copies of itself. In the one-dimensional Rule 90 cellular automaton, every pattern is a replicator. The same is true in the life-like cellular automaton rule Replicator (B1357/S1357). Highlife (B36/S23) rule has a simple replicator. On November 23, 2013, Dave Greene built the first replicator in Conway's Game of Life (B3/S23). (Wikipedia).

Adam P. Goucher - Evolving Lifeforms on Lattices - G4G13 April 2018
In October 1970, Martin Gardner famously introduced the world to Conway's 'Game of Life', a simple set of rules exhibiting breathtaking emergent complexity. We explore a wide range of lattice-based rules which are more conducive to supporting rich interactions and biological processes such

Is the future of surgery robotic?
Surgery is a field that requires a lot of focus and precision. Indeed, there can be no mistakes in surgical operating rooms and surgeons can use all the help they can get. This is where surgical robots come into play. Perhaps the most famous surgical robot is the Da Vinci robot. That mac

Abstract: I shall discuss old and new results on amenability of groups, and more generally G-sets. This notion traces back to von Neumann in his study of the Hausdorff-Banach-Tarski paradox, and grew into one of the fundamental properties a group may / may not have -- each time with import
