In mathematics, the Ulam numbers comprise an integer sequence devised by and named after Stanislaw Ulam, who introduced it in 1964. The standard Ulam sequence (the (1, 2)-Ulam sequence) starts with U1 = 1 and U2 = 2. Then for n > 2, Un is defined to be the smallest integer that is the sum of two distinct earlier terms in exactly one way and larger than all earlier terms. (Wikipedia).
A variation on an Ulam Spiral: a Sacks Spiral
Simplicity making complexity. In one word: Emergence. Using the same process as my Ulam Spiral video, https://youtu.be/JjBnLz0SF3A but this time in a Sacks Spiral, https://youtu.be/iFuR97YcSLM?t=6m3s Enjoy. Animation made with FMS Logo.

Simplicity making complexity. In one word: Emergence. Ulam Spiral is when you mark the integers on a grid, in a square spiral pattern, and then retain only prime numbers. For this variation, I retained multiples of 1, then multiples of 2, etc. I was inspired by https://www.youtube.com/watc

Topics in Combinatorics lecture 6.9 -- Two applications of the Borsuk-Ulam theorem
Here I show how to use the Borsuk-Ulam theorem to find a graph with no short odd cycles but with very high chromatic number, and then to give a solution to the Kneser conjecture. The latter concerns the chromatic number of the Kneser graph, which has as its vertex set the set of all subset

The Borsuk-Ulam Theorem | Nathan Dalaklis
Mappings and functions that work on topological spaces other than the real line can be counterintuitive, and in cases like with the sphere, we have things like the Borsuk-Ulam Theorem which can assert the truth of things that would appear, without proof, to be outright lies. In this video,
