Strangulated graph

In graph theoretic mathematics, a strangulated graph is a graph in which deleting the edges of any induced cycle of length greater than three would disconnect the remaining graph. That is, they are the graphs in which every peripheral cycle is a triangle. (Wikipedia).

Lionel Pournin - Distance, Strong Convexity, Flagness, and Associahedra

One can always transform a triangulation of a convex polygon into another by performing a sequence of edge flips, which amounts to follow a path in the graph G of the associahedron. The least number of flips required to do so is then a distance in that graph whose estimation is instrumenta

The Riemann Mapping Theorem asserts that any simply connected planar domain which is not the whole of it, can be mapped by a conformal homeomorphism onto the open unit disk. After normalization, this map is unique and is called the Riemann mapping. In the 90's, Ken Stephenson, motivated by

What are Connected Graphs? | Graph Theory

What is a connected graph in graph theory? That is the subject of today's math lesson! A connected graph is a graph in which every pair of vertices is connected, which means there exists a path in the graph with those vertices as endpoints. We can think of it this way: if, by traveling acr
