Binary sequences | Pseudorandomness
A pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS), pseudorandom binary code or pseudorandom bitstream is a binary sequence that, while generated with a deterministic algorithm, is difficult to predict and exhibits statistical behavior similar to a truly random sequence. PRBS generators are used in telecommunication, such as in analog-to-information conversion, but also in encryption, simulation, correlation technique and time-of-flight spectroscopy. The most common example is the maximum length sequence generated by a (maximal) linear feedback shift register (LFSR). Other examples are Gold sequences (used in CDMA and GPS), Kasami sequences and JPL sequences, all based on LFSRs. In telecommunications, pseudorandom binary sequences are known as pseudorandom noise codes (PN or PRN codes) due to their application as pseudorandom noise. (Wikipedia).
Pseudorandom Number Generation and Stream Ciphers
Fundamental concepts of Pseudorandom Number Generation are discussed. Pseudorandom Number Generation using a Block Cipher is explained. Stream Cipher & RC4 are presented.

Giray Ökten: Number sequences for simulation - lecture 1
After an overview of some approaches to define random sequences, we will discuss pseudorandom sequences and low-discrepancy sequences. Applications to numerical integration, Koksma-Hlawka inequality, and Niederreiter’s uniform point sets will be discussed. We will then present randomized q

Abstract: The notion of quasi-random graphs was introduced in 1987 by F. R. K. Chung, R. L. Graham and R. M. Wilson, resp. A. Thomason. It has been shown that there is a strong connection between this notion and the pseudorandomness of (finite) binary sequences. This connection can be util
