Surfaces

Class A surface

In automotive design, a class A surface is any of a set of freeform surfaces of high efficiency and quality. Although, strictly, it is nothing more than saying the surfaces have curvature and tangency alignment – to ideal aesthetical reflection quality, many people interpret class A surfaces to have G2 (or even G3) curvature continuity to one another (see free form surface modelling). Class A surfacing is done using computer-aided industrial design applications. Class A surface modellers are also called "digital sculptors" in the industry. Industrial designers develop their design styling through the A-Surface, the physical surface the end user can feel, touch, see etc. (Wikipedia).

Complex surfaces 4: Ruled surfaces

This talk gives an informal survey of ruled surfaces and their role in the Enriques classification. We give a few examples of ruled surfaces, summarize the basic invariants of surfaces, and sketch how one classifies the surfaces of Kodaira dimension minus infinity.

MATH331: Riemann Surfaces - part 1

We define what a Riemann Surface is. We show that PP^1 is a Riemann surface an then interpret our crazy looking conditions from a previous video about "holomorphicity at infinity" as coming from the definition of a Riemann Surface.

What Is Surface Anatomy?

In the first mini-lecture, we ask the question: what is surface anatomy? We learn how anatomy is the study of the structure of our bodies, including osteology, histology, gross anatomy, imaging, embryology and indeed surface anatomy. As you might imagine, surface anatomy studies the extern

Multivariable Calculus | The tangent plane of a level surface.

We derive the equation of a plane tangent to a level surface. That is, a surface defined by the equation F(x,y,z)=k. http://www.michael-penn.net http://www.randolphcollege.edu/mathematics/
