Victor Andreevich Toponogov

Victor Andreevich Toponogov (Russian: Ви́ктор Андре́евич Топоно́гов; March 6, 1930 – November 21, 2004) was an outstanding Russian mathematician, noted for his contributions to differential geometry and so-called Riemannian geometry "in the large". (Wikipedia).
