The Geometry of Numbers is a book on the geometry of numbers, an area of mathematics in which the geometry of lattices, repeating sets of points in the plane or higher dimensions, is used to derive results in number theory. It was written by Carl D. Olds, Anneli Cahn Lax, and Giuliana Davidoff, and published by the Mathematical Association of America in 2000 as volume 41 of their Anneli Lax New Mathematical Library book series. (Wikipedia).
Number theory Full Course [A to Z]
Number theory (or arithmetic or higher arithmetic in older usage) is a branch of pure #mathematics devoted primarily to the study of the integers and integer-valued functions. Number theorists study prime numbers as well as the properties of objects made out of integers (for example, ratio

Visualizing decimal numbers and their arithmetic 67 | Arithmetic and Geometry Math Foundations
This video gives a precise definition of a decimal number as a special kind of rational number; one for which there is an expression a/b where a and b are integers, with b a power of ten. For such a number we can extend the Hindu-Arabic notation for integers by introducing the decimal form

A brief history of Geometry III: The 19th century | Sociology and Pure Mathematics | N J Wildberger
The 19th century was a pivotal time in the development of modern geometry, actually a golden age for the subject, which then saw a precipitous decline in the 20th century. Why was that? To find out, let's first overview some of the main developments in geometry during the 1800's, includin

What is Mathematics, Really? #SoME2
"What is mathematics?" and "What do mathematicians do?" Mathematics seems daunting or deeply nerdy. In my view, it's another way to look at the world, the same as art or science. Let's do some mathematics ourselves, speeding through the process from asking a question to telling others what
