In linguistics, subordination (abbreviated variously SUBORD, SBRD, SUBR or SR) is a principle of the hierarchical organization of linguistic units. While the principle is applicable in semantics, morphology, and phonology, most work in linguistics employs the term "subordination" in the context of syntax, and that is the context in which it is considered here. The syntactic units of sentences are often either subordinate or coordinate to each other. Hence an understanding of subordination is promoted by an understanding of coordination, and vice versa. [Syntax] Clauses, Subordination, and Infinitivals
I introduce subordinate and matrix clauses, as well as relative clauses, sentential subjects, adjunct clauses, and complement clauses. We also learn how to draw Infinitival clauses in our trees. LIKE AND SHARE THE VIDEO IF IT HELPED! Visit our website: http://bit.ly/1zBPlvm Subscribe on

Definition of a Surjective Function and a Function that is NOT Surjective
We define what it means for a function to be surjective and explain the intuition behind the definition. We then do an example where we show a function is not surjective. Surjective functions are also called onto functions. Useful Math Supplies https://amzn.to/3Y5TGcv My Recording Gear ht

Subjunctive With Indefinites in Italian: Congiuntivo con Gli Indefiniti
Indefinites include certain pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, and expressions, and the certainty implied by these words will often require the use of the subjunctive tense. Let's go over all of these definites and practice using the subjunctive with them now! Script by Patrizia Farina, Profe

SYN122 - The Function of the Verb - Tense
This first of a series of three E-Lectures deals with the function of the verb in PDE, in particular with the notion of tense. Prof. Handke explains why PDE has only two tenses, the present and the past tense, and how they are used. The discussion why PDE has no future tense concludes this
