Chaotic maps

Standard map

The standard map (also known as the Chirikov–Taylor map or as the Chirikov standard map) is an area-preserving chaotic map from a square with side onto itself. It is constructed by a Poincaré's surface of section of the kicked rotator, and is defined by: where and are taken modulo . The properties of chaos of the standard map were established by Boris Chirikov in 1969. (Wikipedia).

Jacopo De Simoi: Diffusion limit for a slow-fast Standard Map

Abstract : Consider the map (x,z)↦(x+ϵ−αsin(2πx)+ϵ−(1+α)z,z+ϵsin(2πx)), which is conjugate to the Chirikov standard map with a large parameter. For suitable α, we obtain a central limit theorem for the slow variable z for a (Lebesgue) random initial condition. The result is proved by conj
