In mathematics, a multisection of a power series is a new power series composed of equally spaced terms extracted unaltered from the original series. Formally, if one is given a power series then its multisection is a power series of the form where p, q are integers, with 0 ≤ p < q. Series multisection represents one of the common transformations of generating functions. (Wikipedia).

Producing algebraic curves in projective families via Floer theory - Alex Pieloch
We will discuss the existence of rational (multi)sections and unirulings for projective families f:X→CP1 with at most two singular fibres. In particular, we will discuss two ingredients that are used to construct the above algebraic curves. The first is local symplectic cohomology groups a

What the heck is a Multiverse?
The idea of a multiverse (short for multiple universes) can seem absurd. After all, the definition of universe means everything, so what does it mean to have multiple universes? In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln lists a couple possible definitions for a multiverse. The reality in

Definition and examples of series. In this video, I define the notion of a series using partial sums, and give a couple of examples of series. I also show the fact used in many times in calculus that a series converges if and only if it is bounded, which is used many times in calculus. Enj

Direct Comparison Test - Calculus 2
This calculus 2 video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the direct comparison test. If the big series converges, then the smaller series must also converge. Likewise, if the small series diverges, the big series must diverge as well. That's the basic idea of the direct compari
