A secular resonance is a type of orbital resonance between two bodies with synchronized precessional frequencies. In celestial mechanics, secular refers to the long-term motion of a system, and resonance is periods or frequencies being a simple numerical ratio of small integers. Typically, the synchronized precessions in secular resonances are between the rates of change of the argument of the periapses or the rates of change of the longitude of the ascending nodes of two system bodies. Secular resonances can be used to study the long-term orbital evolution of asteroids and their families within the asteroid belt. (Wikipedia).
Magnets are highly misunderstood, and often interpreted as magic. But they're not magic! It's just science. Let's learn about what magnets are and what produces magnetism and magnetic fields so that we can sound super smart at dinner parties, yes? Watch the whole Classical Physics playlis

The Quantum Harmonic Oscillator Part 1: The Classical Harmonic Oscillator
For our third quantum problem we will visit harmonic oscillators. In a classical setting, this is like the ball on a spring we examined when learning about Hooke's law in the classical physics series. But this has quantum application as well, in modeling the vibrations of molecules and thi

Mass vs. Weight and the Normal Force
Mass is just a fancy sciency word for weight, right? Wrong! Although related, they aren't the same thing. You'd better find out exactly what the difference is so that you don't look foolish around the water cooler! Oh and the normal force, let's find out what that is too. Watch the whole

Polar Coordinates and Graphing Polar Equations
Everything we have done on the coordinate plane so far has been using rectangular coordinates. That's the x and y we are used to. But that's not the only coordinate system. We can also use polar coordinates, which graph points in terms of a radius, or distance from a pole, and theta, the a
