Ordinal numerical competence

In human developmental psychology or non-human primate experiments, ordinal numerical competence or ordinal numerical knowledge is the ability to count objects in order and to understand the greater than and less than relationships between numbers. It has been shown that children as young as two can make some ordinal numerical decisions. There are studies indicating that some non-human primates, like chimpanzees and rhesus monkeys have some ordinal numerical competence. (Wikipedia).

The Meaning of Numbers – Categorical Data (1-2)

Numbers can do many functions. Some numbers stand in for names or create categories (nominal & ordinal). Other numbers quantify amounts and measurements (interval & ratio). We begin with categorical data: nominal and ordinal. You will learn the distinctions between nominal and ordinal data

R Programming: Introduction: Factors (R Intro-04)

[my R script is here https://github.com/bionicturtle/youtube/tree/master/r-intro] Factors are categorical vectors. Specifically, they are (integer) vectors that store categorical values, or ordinal values. Ordinal values are *ranked* categories (but they are not intervals).Factors can only

NUMBERS Can Do Three Jobs – Levels of Measurement NOIR (1-4)

We have been using numbers all of our lives. One of the first things that you learn as a young child is numbers. Maybe you had some blocks that taught you the names of the numbers. If you had siblings, you knew whether you were firstborn, or second, or third. Before long, you were learning

Orthogonality and Orthonormality

We know that the word orthogonal is kind of like the word perpendicular. It implies that two vectors have an angle of ninety degrees or half pi radians between them. But this term means much more than this, as we can have orthogonal matrices, or entire subspaces that are orthogonal to one
