Topological dynamics

Orbit capacity

In mathematics, orbit capacity of a subset of a topological dynamical system may be thought of heuristically as a “topological dynamical probability measure” of the subset. More precisely, its value for a set is a tight upper bound for the normalized number of visits of orbits in this set. (Wikipedia).

Teach Astronomy - Mass and Weight

http://www.teachastronomy.com/ People use the words interchangeably, but there is a big difference between the concept of mass and the concept of weight. Mass is the amount of stuff in an object, or the number of atoms, measured in units of kilograms. Weight however is the response of an

How Many Satellites Are In Space?

The space age began on October 4, 1957 with the launch of the first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1. This tiny spacecraft lasted only three months in orbit, finally burning up in the Earth's atmosphere. Following in these historic footsteps, many more spacecraft have been sent into Eart

Teach Astronomy - Orbit Eccentricity

http://www.teachastronomy.com/ Orbital eccentricity is the amount by which an orbit deviates from a circle. Mathematically it's defined as the distance between the two foci of an elliptical orbit divided by the major axis. A circle has an ellipticity, denoted by the little symbol "e", of
