Nodal surface

In algebraic geometry, a nodal surface is a surface in (usually complex) projective space whose only singularities are nodes. A major problem about them is to find the maximum number of nodes of a nodal surface of given degree. The following table gives some known upper and lower bounds for the maximal number of nodes on a complex surface of given degree. In degree 7, 9, 11, and 13, the upper bound is given by , which is better than the one by . (Wikipedia).

MATH331: Riemann Surfaces - part 1

We define what a Riemann Surface is. We show that PP^1 is a Riemann surface an then interpret our crazy looking conditions from a previous video about "holomorphicity at infinity" as coming from the definition of a Riemann Surface.

Frank Gounelas : Rational curves on K3 surfaces

Bogomolov and Mumford proved that every complex projective K3 surface contains a rational curve. Since then, a lot of progress has been made by Bogomolov, Chen, Hassett, Li, Liedtke, Tschinkel and others, towards the stronger statement that any such surface in fact contains infinitely many
