Metrication in Canada began in 1970 and ceased in 1985. While Canada has converted to the metric system for many purposes, there is still significant use of non-metric units and standards in many sectors of the Canadian economy and everyday life today. This is mainly due to historical ties with the United Kingdom, the traditional use of the imperial system of measurement in Canada, proximity to the United States, and strong public opposition to metrication during the transition period. Using Dimensional Analysis to Find the Units of a Constant
This video shows you how to use dimensional analysis to find the units for constants in physics and chemistry equations. For example, why are the units for the gravitational constant (G) newtons, meters squared over kilograms squared. Dimensional analysis in physics is an important tool t

Access to Insurance Doesn't Guarantee Access to Care
Many are still unhappy with Obamacare. The main intent of the Affordable Care Act was to expand the safety net (Medicaid), regulate the non-employer-based private insurance market (the insurance exchanges) and help people buy that insurance (subsidies) in order to reduce the number of Ameri

The 1983 "Gimli Glider" Incident.
Captain Sully’s US Airways Flight 1549 lost its engines almost immediately after takeoff, after reaching an altitude of only 2,800 feet. In 1983, a very different flight lost power at a staggering 41,000 feet, and the pilots had no choice but to try to land the plane without engines. Che
