Metric derivative

In mathematics, the metric derivative is a notion of derivative appropriate to parametrized paths in metric spaces. It generalizes the notion of "speed" or "absolute velocity" to spaces which have a notion of distance (i.e. metric spaces) but not direction (such as vector spaces). (Wikipedia).

What is the Derivative?

Derivatives are the main object of study in differential calculus. They describe rates of change of functions. That makes them incredibly useful in all of science, as many models can be expressed by describing the changes over time (e.g. of physical quantities). However, the abstract defin

Relating Metric Tensor to Gravity | Tensor Calculus Ep. 16

Today I show how in the Newtonian limit, we're able to relate the metric tensor to the gravitational potential. We do this by imposing a static weak field metric, and see how this affects the geodesic equation. This will be one of many useful pieces of information we can use to argue what
