Mathematical Magick (complete title: Mathematical Magick, or, The wonders that may by performed by mechanical geometry.) is a treatise by the English clergyman, natural philosopher, polymath and author John Wilkins (1614 – 1672). It was first published in 1648 in London, another edition was printed in 1680 and further editions were published in 1691 and 1707. (Wikipedia).
Using Algebra and Geometry in the Real World
You hear terms like “algebra” and “geometry” and these theories we memorized in high school start to dance a jig in our heads – a jig many of us weren’t overly interested in! But the past decade has seen an explosion of applications of algebra, geometry, and topology to the real world, lik

What are the Types of Numbers? Real vs. Imaginary, Rational vs. Irrational
We've mentioned in passing some different ways to classify numbers, like rational, irrational, real, imaginary, integers, fractions, and more. If this is confusing, then take a look at this handy-dandy guide to the taxonomy of numbers! It turns out we can use a hierarchical scheme just lik

Visualizing decimal numbers and their arithmetic 67 | Arithmetic and Geometry Math Foundations
This video gives a precise definition of a decimal number as a special kind of rational number; one for which there is an expression a/b where a and b are integers, with b a power of ten. For such a number we can extend the Hindu-Arabic notation for integers by introducing the decimal form
