Igor Rostislavovich Shafarevich (Russian: И́горь Ростисла́вович Шафаре́вич; 3 June 1923 – 19 February 2017) was a Soviet and Russian mathematician who contributed to algebraic number theory and algebraic geometry. Outside mathematics, he wrote books and articles that criticised socialism and other books which were (controversially) described as anti-semitic. (Wikipedia).

Theorem 1.10 - part 10.5 - Neron-Ogg-Shafarevich - Structure of m-Torsion of A mod p
Here we use the theory of Neron Models, Chevalley-Rosenlicht, and a handful of other things to determine the structure of the torsion of an Abelian variety with bad reduction modulo p. This is used in proving the hard part of the Neron-Ogg-Shafarevich criterion: if an abelian variety has a

Theorem 1.10 - part 10.7 - Neron-Ogg-Shafarevich - Exact Sequences and Torsion
We prove a little lemma we used that states that if 0 \to A' \to A \to A'' \to 0 is an exact sequence of abelian groups and A' is divisible then taking m-torsion will give and exact sequence of m-torsion.
