M-estimators | Robust statistics | Loss functions
In statistics, the Huber loss is a loss function used in robust regression, that is less sensitive to outliers in data than the squared error loss. A variant for classification is also sometimes used. (Wikipedia).
I guess this is what happens when you don't put anything up to keep the shopping carts from falling out of the truck.
