P-groups | Theorems in group theory
In abstract algebra, the focal subgroup theorem describes the fusion of elements in a Sylow subgroup of a finite group. The focal subgroup theorem was introduced in and is the "first major application of the transfer" according to . The focal subgroup theorem relates the ideas of transfer and fusion such as described in. Various applications of these ideas include local criteria for p-nilpotence and various non-simplicity criteria focussing on showing that a finite group has a normal subgroup of index p. (Wikipedia).
In this tutorial we define a subgroup and prove two theorem that help us identify a subgroup. These proofs are simple to understand. There are also two examples of subgroups.

Notwithstanding the fact that I introduce the topic as the orbit stabilizer syndrome, this video takes you through the orbit stabilizer theorem. :-) It states that the number of cosets formed by the stabilizer of a group (called the index) is the same as the number of elements in the orbi

Visual Group Theory, Lecture 5.2: The orbit-stabilizer theorem Suppose a group G acts on a set S. The orbit of s in S is the collection of states (in S) reachable from s. The stablizer of s is the set of elements (in G) that fix s. The orbit-stabilizer theorem says that |G|=|Orb(s)|*|Stab

Centralizer of a set in a group
