In formal language theory, in particular in algorithmic learning theory, a class C of languages has finite thickness if every string is contained in at most finitely many languages in C. This condition was introduced by Dana Angluin as a sufficient condition for C being identifiable in the limit. (Wikipedia).

The Limit Does NOT Exist (Limit Example 4)
Epsilon Definition of a Limit In this video, I illustrate the epsilon-N definition of a limit by showing that the limit of (-1)^n as n goes to infinity does NOT exist. The method I present is more generally useful to show that a limit does not exist. Other examples of limits can be seen

The Geometry of Finite Geometric Sums (visual proof; series)
This is a short, animated visual proof demonstrating the finite geometric for any ratio x with x greater than 1. This series (and its infinite analog when x less than 1) is important for many results in calculus, discrete mathematics, and combinatorics. #mathshorts #mathvideo #math #cal

Infinite Limits (Limit Example 10)
Epsilon Definition of a Limit In this video, I illustrate the epsilon-N definition of a limit by doing an example with an infinite limit. More precisely, I prove from scratch that the limit of sqrt(n-2)+3 is infinity Other examples of limits can be seen in the playlist below. Check ou

Upper and Lower Bound In this video, I define what it means for a set to be bounded above and bounded below. This will be useful in our definition of inf and sup. Check out my Real Numbers Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJb1qAQIrmmCZggpJZvUXnUzaw7fHCtoh

Persistent homology with multiple continuous parameters presents fundamental challenges different from those arising with one real or multiple discrete parameters. Existing algebraic theories apply either for discrete parameters or for one continuous parameter. In part, the difficulty ar

A. Song - On the essential minimal volume of Einstein 4-manifolds (version temporaire)
Given a positive epsilon, a closed Einstein 4-manifold admits a natural thick-thin decomposition. I will explain how, for any delta, one can modify the Einstein metric to a bounded sectional curvature metric so that the thick part has volume linearly bounded by the Euler characteristic and
