In general relativity, light is assumed to propagate in a vacuum along a null geodesic in a pseudo-Riemannian manifold. Besides the geodesics principle in a classical field theory there exists Fermat's principle for stationary gravity fields. (Wikipedia).

Is ACTION The Most Fundamental Property in Physics?
Learn More About NordVPN at: https://nordvpn.com/spacetime It’s about time we discussed an obscure concept in physics that may be more fundamental than energy and entropy and perhaps time itself. That’s right - the time has come for Action. Sign Up on Patreon to get access to the Space

Uniqueness: The Physics Problem That Shouldn't Be Solved
The Uniqueness Theorem can PROVE that this problem only has one possible solution... so however we can find it (e.g. guessing), we know we've got the right one! In this video, we'll be taking a look at how this uniqueness theorem is derived for the Poisson and Laplace equations in electro
