Double origin topology

In mathematics, more specifically general topology, the double origin topology is an example of a topology given to the plane R2 with an extra point, say 0*, added. In this case, the double origin topology gives a topology on the set X = R2 ∐ {0*}, where ∐ denotes the disjoint union. (Wikipedia).

Parallels and the double triangle | Universal Hyperbolic Geometry 18 | NJ Wildberger

We discuss Euclid's parallel postulate and the confusion it led to in the history of hyperbolic geometry. In Universal Hyperbolic Geometry we define the parallel to a line through a point, NOT the notion of parallel lines. This leads us to the useful construction of the double triangle of

Every basis is a dual basis

In this video, I show a very neat result about dual spaces: Namely, any basis of V* is automatically a dual basis of some basis of V. Even though this result is very interesting, it's the proof that makes this very exciting, by simply using the fact that V and V** are 'very' isomorphic. En
