Continuous distributions

Burr distribution

In probability theory, statistics and econometrics, the Burr Type XII distribution or simply the Burr distribution is a continuous probability distribution for a non-negative random variable. It is also known as the Singh–Maddala distribution and is one of a number of different distributions sometimes called the "generalized log-logistic distribution". It is most commonly used to model household income, see for example: Household income in the U.S. and compare to magenta graph at right. The Burr (Type XII) distribution has probability density function: and cumulative distribution function: (Wikipedia).

Sampling Distribution of the PROPORTION: Friends of P (12-2)

The sampling distribution of the proportion is the probability distribution of all possible values of the sample proportions. It is analogous to the Distribution of Sample Means. When the sample size is large enough, the sampling distribution of the proportion can be approximated by a norm

Introduction to the Normal Distribution in Statistics (3-8)

The most important distribution in all of statistics is the normal distribution. Many measures of human individual differences naturally fall into this normal or bell-shaped curve; therefore, many statistical tests assume that the underlying population that we are sampling is normally dis
